Gracie Gould

Born and raised in Atlanta, I began playing sports at an early age. Despite being small-statured for my age, I found a place for myself in sports where I could participate and not be treated differently. I enjoy setting goals for myself in sports and working hard to achieve them.

I began playing volleyball at 17 as a libero for my high school team. I fell in love with the game and took my passion for the sport with me into college where I majored in exercise science. I realized that I wanted to share the positive experiences volleyball (and other sports) gave to me with other people. Despite a busy schedule I found ways to stay involved with volleyball. Whether I was playing sand or hard-court, I played on league teams during the year and in the summer, and worked as a referee. For me, the volleyball court is one of the places I feel most at home.

I began working in sports following my high school sports experiences. Whether in a school, recreation, or athletic club environment, I worked not only with volleyball programs, but with basketball, swimming, and soccer as well. I might be coaching a 4 year old or a pre-teen, but the best part was always “those little moments” when I would realize I just made a difference in a young person’s life. Whether is was simply a smile or a thank you, to see the achievement on another person’s face made it all worth it.
